152 days to go!

It’s been a while since I last wrote an update and that was just after the disappointment of the triple back-to-back marathons being called off mid race.
The good news is that things have been going to plan since then.

The Last 2 Weeks
Well training has been going well and I am really motivated again as the clocks have gone back and the longer days sure do make the training easier. My running has been going well and as I’m racing in an Ultra Tri on the 3rd May I have cranked up the bike miles.
I have to also confess to having just return from 3 days in Dubai. I got a whole load of sea swimming done and got to catch a few rays which was great.

The Next 2 Weeks

Jam packed is the best way to describe it. This week is another visit to the lab for a range of performance tests. My last tests were in February and I’m hoping to see a big chance since then. This weekend is also the final weekend before the ultra tri on the 3rd May so there are two long sessions planned. There is also a visit to The TriLife facilities and another swim session in their endless pool.

Accelerace Mid Wales Ultra Triathlon
Swim 4 miles Cycle 163 miles Run 31 miles

As I’ve mentioned I’m racing starting the 3rd May and the Ultra will last something link 24-27hrs. Now I’m not sure if you race over 27 hrs or if you just survive but I think I’ll be focusing on the survival part.
Updates will be coming through thick and fast now as we enter the final stages.
Cheers
Nino
